The husband-and-wife team of professors Marlon Gamido and Heidilyn Gamido won first prize in the 2018 year-end in-house review of completed researches held by the University Research Office on December 14, 2018.
Titled “Development of Integrated Administrative Management System: Procurement Module for Tarlac State University,” the Gamidos’ award-winning research led 6 others in the Technology category.
A study by a team of six engineer-professors, which led successfully to the development of an electric vehicle powered by a solar charger, placed second in the contest. Engineers Leo Piao, Raul Canlas, Adam Rombaoa, Arnel Punla, Bernardino Nalipay and Jessie Domingo composed the team.
An Internet application for energy management created by computer science professors Ronnie Mercado, Dennis Virtudazo and Valerie Simbol received the third prize.
In the Social Science category, Education professors Nelvin Nool and Jessie B. Aquino placed first with their research project titled “The Use of Edmodo with Journal Writing in Teaching Mathematics.”
Prof. Mellany Masangkay’s study, titled “Talent Engagement and Leadership Abilities of College of Education Faculty Members in State Universities and Colleges of Region III: Basis of a Teacher Management Program,” placed second and Prof. Marie Paz H. Angeles’ “Achievement Motivation Vis-à-vis Personality Type: Implications for Academic Success” placed third.
The winners were awarded certificates of recognition and cash prizes, according to URO.
