Tarlac State University officials, led by President Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza, visited the TSU Concepcion Extension Campus earlier today (June 2) to meet with student representatives and discuss concerns regarding campus facilities and student services.

Joining the university president were Dr. Marlon V. Gamido, Officer-in-Charge Vice President for Administration, Dr. Edwin T. Caoleng, Officer-in-Charge Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Gladie Natherine G. Cabanizas, Director of Student Affairs and Services, and Mr. Allan Santos, Unit Head of International, Differently-Abled, Indigenous, and Marginalized Student Services.

During the dialogue, student representatives raised concerns on classroom facilities, cleanliness and sanitation, food amenities, security, maintenance, and the availability of first aid and clinic services.

The university officials addressed these concerns by discussing possible solutions to support the students' needs. Furthermore, they committed to coordinate with LGU Concepcion to resolve issues requiring their assistance.

As an immediate response to one of the concerns raised during the dialogue, Dr. Mendoza donated his personal projector for temporary use on campus. The projector will be used as an instructional tool while the university works on long-term solutions for the campus.

Lancelot Jimwel Valencia, an incoming second-year Bachelor of Public Administration student, shared that he personally raised the challenges students face regarding classroom equipment and other campus concerns.

“Malaking bagay po sa amin na napakinggan ang aming mga concerns. Nagpapasalamat po kami kay President Jasper at sa buong TSU administration dahil may mga hakbang na ginagawa upang matugunan ang aming mga pangangailangan,” Valencia said.

He added that the projector will be shared among students and may be used as a backup instructional tool whenever classroom televisions become unavailable.

The TSU Concepcion Extension Campus is one of three satellite campuses, alongside Capas and La Paz, operated through strategic partnerships with local government units.
